Coke and Mentos Video
Here is my attempt at the Coke and Mentos Experiment.
The geyser was not as large as I had anticipated it being but that is because I was late moving the paper funnel away from the top. Keep this in mind when you try the experiment.
Oh boy, this one's a classic! My older brother introduced me to the phenomenon of Diet-Coke-and-Mentos geysers as a kid and I thought it was truly amazing back then. I wonder how well other drinks work with this experiment? Anyway, I've seen some incredible setups like the one on your blog with the two guys; I imagine that took a while to put together. Though my major is physics, I love a good chemistry experiment, and if I ever have kids I'll be sure to show them this simple yet fun little trick someday. I'm glad you included this on your blog.
I like this experiment because my science club repeatedly did this experiment. This was probably one of my favorite experiments that I did in high school.
